24. Go to wd-50
For our 6 month anniversary, Finn and I went up to NYC and spent a wonderful day walking around the city and spending quality time together. Despite his still very broken collar bone, it was a great trip and we had lots of fun. I originally made us a reservation at Ninja, since going there is also on my list, but I ended up changing my mind when a friend told me that it was kind of cheesy and not...

70. Play Day of the Tentacle
Day of the Tentacle has been my favorite video game since the very first time I played it. It’s a LucasArts point and click adventure game from back in the 90s, and it’s just one of the silliest, most awesome games I’ve ever played. I’ve been wishing and hoping that they would re-vamp it and make it playable for me again, whether on the computer or on some other gaming...

96. Spend an Entire Day with my Brother
I somehow forgot to cross this off my list back in December when my brother came to visit me. We took the bus together after Christmas and came back to Philly. He spent the weekend with me. It was awesome! We went to the Franklin Institute and spent the day learning about awesome science-y things. Well, I learned quite a bit, but as it turns out, he’s a smartypants who already knows...

59. Beat a Video Game
I love video games, but I almost NEVER beat them. I end up getting distracted by a new game or stuck on a part that I can’t beat. I don’t like to cheat and look up how to do things on the internet, so many of my games end up unbeaten. I actually ended up beating 2 games within a week of each other! Flower and Critter Crunch, both games from the Playstation Network, and both very...

46. Bake Cupcakes from Scratch
About two weeks ago, after looking through a zillion pictures of cupcakes on Tumblr, I had an uncontrollable urge to make french toast cupcakes. I looked up a recipe for the cupcakes and the frosting and headed out to the store. These were the result. French Toast Cupcakes with Maple Buttercream Frosting and Bacon Sprinkles! Yum!

10. Eat a Cupcake from Crumbs
Ever since my friend Zac first told me about Crumbs a year or so ago, all I’ve wanted to do is go to Crumbs and get a cupcake. Cupcakes have always been one of my favorite things on the planet, and these cupcakes just looked absolutely glorious. I’ve been to Magnolia Bakery, and it just didn’t live up to the hype, and I was really hoping Crumbs would be better. Thankfully, I was...

1. Find a Boy Who Appreciates Me
I originally wrote something pretty lengthy and heartfelt and a bit revealing about my past, but decided against posting it. I’ve saved it elsewhere so that I have it to look back on, but for the eyes of the internetz, this is all you need to know: I found him. He’s incredible. He’s LOLarious. He appreciates me. He just…GETS it. <3

49. Fall in Love with a New City
I’ve always loved traveling and exploring new places, and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve been doing my best to travel as often as I can and discover new favorite places or new favorite things about old favorites. New York City will probably always be my #1 favorite city, there’s just so many reasons to love it, and its unlike any other place I have ever been, but I’ve...

13. See The Get Up Kids Again
The Get Up Kids have been one of my favorite bands since high school, but I unfortunately never got the opportunity to see them play back at the height of their career. Seeing the Get Up Kids back during the “Something to Write Home About” era would have probably been an unforgettable experience, but seeing them at all is pretty damn fantastic. I saw them back in 2004 or 2005 for...

47. Bake a Creative Cake
A few years ago I made this super awesome fishbowl cake for my dad’s luau themed wedding party. It was pretty freakin awesome. Ever since then, I’ve been totally fascinated by cake art. I love watching the cake challenges on the Food Network and just browsing the internet for super awesome cakes. I have’t tried to make another awesome cake since then, but I’ve been...

5. Move Out of My Dad's House
Ever since I was 4 years old, my dream has never been to get married, have babies, and buy my dream house. My dream has always been to move out of NY, get an apartment by myself, get a puppy, and find a boy who loves me, but that I don’t necessarily have to marry. It’s a little odd for a 4 year old to know exactly what she wants out of life, but it’s something I’ve always...

62. Draw Someone a Silly Picture
I’m not really very good at drawing, but I’ve always loved doing it. I’ll use anything as an excuse to bust out the Sharpies and the crayons because I love drawing silly, ridiculous things. I can’t remember the last time I drew a silly picture for someone, as I had a few creativity killers in my life for awhile. Now that I’ve moved on to bigger and better things and...

94. Go to Love Park in Philadelphia
I first heard about Love Park on 4th of July weekend, the weekend that changed the course of my life for the better. I wasn’t exactly sure what it was, or where it was, but I knew I wanted to go there because I love parks, and the word “Love” was in the name. (Yes, I’m that big of a hopeless romantic, don’t judge me.) Eventually I looked it up, and saw that there...

97. Make a List of 101 Things That Make Me Happy
There are many days that pass by that I feel like I’m the only person who truly appreciates the little things in life, like the way the light hits a building just right or the way the raindrops splash when they fall into a puddle. It’s something that I pride myself on for sure and it’s definitely one of my best qualities. I tend to get over excited about the smallest things, and...

22. People Watch in Central Park
As a resident of New York for 24 years now, you’d think I’d be sick to death of people watching in Central Park. Unfortunately though, Central Park is a place that I haven’t spent very much time, despite completely loving it. People watching is something I enjoy doing, and don’t always get the chance to sit down and do in a relaxing manner. My eyes are always open and...

31. Do Something Nice For Someone
I’ve always liked doing nice things for people, and have always had a “it’s better to give than to receive” type of mentality. I’ve always loved Christmas for this reason, and I absolutely love picking out the perfect gift for someone and seeing their excitement when I give it to them. I love surprising someone with a gift of something they mentioned they wanted when...

23. Go Dancing Again
As someone who grew up counting down the days each month until the next middle school dance, you’d think I’d be someone who would dance more often. However, it seems that the older I get, my “don’t care what people think” attitude seems to be fading, and the thought of someone pointing out what a crappy dancer I actually am gives me ridiculous anxiety.  After going...

19. Spend every weekend in 1 month away from New...
I didn’t plan on spending every month in August away from New York, it just sort of ended up that way, and I’m glad it did. Some of the best weekends I had all year were during this month, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.  Here’s a recap! July 31-August 2 - Philadelphia: Hanging out with Katie and Jimmy. Was sick, but didn’t care. Katie showed us around Philly....

9. Wear a dress for no reason
I’ve never been the girliest of girls, and there are quite a few typical “girly” things that I never, ever do. I never wear a dress unless I have to. I can’t walk in heels. I don’t pain my nails. I don’t wear makeup. I rarely wear jewelry. I’m sure there’s more, but that’s not the point. This past weekend I went on a trip to Boston, and I...

73. Write someone a handwritten letter
I’m the type of person who has a much easier time expressing my thoughts and feelings through writing. Anyone who has ever received a birthday card from me knows this first hand. It’s important to me to tell people what they mean to me, regardless of if they never want to open a card from me ever again because I write such lengthy, mushy stuff inside of them. Its been ages since I...

15. Read 100 books
I absolutely love reading, but its something that I don’t do enough of. Whether I’m too busy or just not in the mood, reading just doesn’t occur in my life as often as it should. I thought it would be fun to keep an ongoing, updated list of the books I read that will eventually make up the 100 books that help me complete this goal. I’m also going to make a separate list at...

12. Kiss Someone By the Water
While some may not consider the Schuylkill Banks in Philadelphia to be “water”, as its definitely much better described as “motor oil” - it doesn’t take away the excitement of kissing someone new who has you completely captivated. This place has actually been pretty significant in my life in the last month since I was introduced to it, and this picture actually...

25. Make Someone a Mixtape
When you love music as much as I do, making mixes is inevitably something that you want to do for every occasion. Whether a mix for a crush, a mix for someones birthday, or a mix of really awesome songs you just HAVE to share with someone, making a mix just brings a music lover SO much joy. I didn’t think I’d end up crossing this goal off the list so quickly, as I was sure that my next...

51. Go to Six Flags or Dorney Park
Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always thought rollercoasters and amusement parks were tons of fun. As I’ve gotten older, my trips to amusement parks have lessened a significant amount, but my love for them has not. I went to Dorney Park last weekend to accompany my step-sister (and a mess of other family members) on her first date with her internet boyfriend. (Technology is the future,...

71. Read a Classic Book I've Never Read
Year after year I find myself in the same conversation with a bunch of different people. Person: “You really have never read ‘BOOK TITLE’? But it’s a classic!” Me: “No…I should probably get around to that…” The book that I seem to get the most crap for not reading is ‘The Catcher in the Rye’, which is why I chose that as the first...

101 in 1001
I’ve decided to hop on the 101 in 1001 bandwagon, and I’m going to keep track of everything in a Tumblr blog. Anytime I complete a goal, I’ll make a post about it here. 101 in 1001 is a list of 101 personal goals that must be completed in 1001 days. The goals do not need to be done in any particular order, as long as they are completed before the deadline. My deadline is April 21, 2012. This is...
